Abstract

Green Mussel (Perna viridis) is kind of favourite seafood that Indonesia like, because it’s highly animal protein nutrision. Green Mussel’s nature that filtering all undersea’s component might make them to be contaminated by pathogenis bacteria that caused respiratory system, such as Salmonella sp. the objective of this research is to identify Salmonella sp. in green mussel that be sold in Tambak Lorok Semarang. Sample identification method that taken is 10 sample of 10 green mussel’s seller in Tambak Lorok Semarang. 1 gr of green mussel must be mashed, then put it into liquid selenite media incubation in 37oC temperature for 12 hours, be cultured into media Salmonella Shigella Agar (SSA) & Mac Conkay (MC), be planted into biochemical test media (IMVIC.MU.TSIA. Glukosa, Laktosa, Sukrosa). The research’s result of 10 sample is there was contamination of Salmonella typhi in 3 samples (30%), and Proteus mirabilis in 7 sample (70%).
