Abstract

Helper in the case of traffic accidents is mostly people around the scene of the majority, who are lay people in giving first aid in an accident. Prehospital care is a service before entering the hospital. It is often a neglected aspect of the hospital's healthcare system. As a nurse, we need to provide training to the lay community about how to deal with trauma victims. The purpose of this research is to know the relationship of attitude with practice of lay community about prehospital care of trauma patient in Widodaren Village of Pemalang Regency with descriptive correlative quantitative research design with cross-sectional approach. This research was conducted on 23 - 25 February 2017 in Widodaren Village RT 47/7 Petarukan Subdistrict of Pemalang Regency with total sample of 34. Pearson Product Moment statistical test results obtained p value of 0.00, so it is concluded there is a relationship between attitude with the practice of the public about prehospital care. Recommendation from this research so that SPGDT nurses can provide training on how to handle trauma victims. Keywords : Practice, prehospital care, attitude.
