Abstract

Self-acceptance is an expression of happy and satisfied about the fact itself. Diabetic patients requires good self-acceptance in order to live a normal life with. One of the effects if the patient does not have a good self-acceptance is the stress that can aggravate his physical condition. This study aims to determine the relationship between the length of treatment with self-acceptance in diabetic patients. The method used in this study using research methods quantitative correlation descriptive design with cross sectional approach and the number of samples are 83 outpatient diabetic patients in Puskesmas Sayung I Demak. Statistical test results obtained rank spearman p value of 0.000, so it concluded there was a significant relationship between the duration of treatment with self-acceptance in diabetic patients in Puskesmas Sayung I Demak. The study recommends for patients with diabetes in order to have a positive self-acceptance process for the sustainability of the treatment process.
