Abstract

Background: Eye fatigue is a result of tension in the sense of sight. Factors that can affect is the working period, length of work, age, visibility, the level of lighting, the frequency of rest, the size of the object. The purpose of this study to determine whether there is a relationship between age, length of work, rest frequency, the level of lighting and visibility with eye fatigue in the work sequin.Method:type of analytic quantitative research with cross sectional approach. The population of 98 payet craftsmen from 28 home industries obtained a sample of 50 respondents with independent variables age, length of work, rest frequency, lighting level, visibility and dependent variables are eye fatigue, with analysis using correlation chi square test.Results: The results of this study show age ≥ 40 years (84.0%), duration of work ≥ 8 hours / day (92.0%), rest time ≤ 60 minutes (56.0%), unfiltered lighting levels (74, 0%), the visibility is not optimal (78.0%), and the variables related to eye fatigue are age (p <0.018), lighting level (p <0.001) and visibility (p <0.003), while the variables not associated with eye fatigue is duration of work (p> 0.284), and resting frequency (p> 1,000) Conclusion: There were a relationship between age, level of lighting, and visibility with eye fatigue.
