Abstract

The exclusive breastfeeding practice in 2016 didn’t meet the maximal achievement which was 54.0% from 80% expected rate. It was influenced by some factors including the lack of knowledge on mother about the proper breastfeeding practice. Describing breastfeeding practice on post SC mothers after the health education given by demonstration and android based video methods in RSI Kendal. It was a descriptive research with survey design which employed 33 respondents taken as sample by purposive sampling technique. Respondents’ characteristic based on the average age of the respondents was 29.67 years old with deviation standard 5.840, the youngest respondent was 20 years old and the oldest was 45. Most of them were bachelor degree qualified with 13 respondents (39.4%), housewives were 16 respondents (48.5%), on first and second child were each 13 respondents (39.4%). The breastfeeding practice after the health educationgiven by demonstration and android based video methods was generally effective with 28 respondents (84.8%) went through the correct breastfeeding steps. Respondents’ education enabled theuse oflatest technology. Financial ability also enabled the respondents to afford android video. Learning process which involved watching, listening, and self-practicing enabled the respondents to better comprehend and memorize 90% of the given material. The nurses are expected to be more creative in delivering technology based nursing care through given by demonstration and android based video methods for pregnant and postpartum mothers.
