Abstract

Examination of triglyceride levels using venous blood specimens taking venous blood is still found to be a mistake in the process of taking specimens such as the length of time for vein blood damming. CLSI recommends that damages be carried out for a maximum of 1 minute. Damming for too long can cause hemoconcentration which can result in triglyceride examination results. The purpose of this examination is to find out whether or not there is a difference between directly containment and 3 minutes type of research, namely analytical research. Samples were taken by purposive sampling as many as 16 respondents from D3 UNIMUS Health Analyst students, who then applied a directly and 3 minute damming time variation when doing phlebotomy. The results of the triglyceride levels were 3 minutes higher than 1 minute. Data obtained from research processed using Paired sample t test statistic shows sig value 0.000 ≤ 0.05 so that from the data processing results can be concluded that there is a significant difference between triglyceride levels with directly containment time and 3 minutes containment time. Keywords: triglycerides, damming
