Abstract

Background: Hypertension is characterized by an increase in systolic or diastolic blood pressure. Elderly is someone who is 60 years old and above marked by changes in physical, psychological and social conditions of the elderly are also vulnerable to the risk of high blood pressure. The use of morning walk therapy can reduce blood pressure due to activity or exercise work the muscles of the blood vessels become elastic so that the muscles of the blood vessels pump blood throughout the body to become smooth. Purpose : The purpose of this case study was to determine the effect of physical activity on the morning walk towards decreasing blood pressure in the elderly. Writing Method: The type of research used was Descriptive Study, where in this case study, the subjects were 2 people who were given morning walk therapy to lower blood pressure. Results: there was an effect before therapy and after being given a reduction therapy after being given morning walking therapy with an average of 20-30 mmHg on systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Conclusion: there is an effect of giving morning walking therapy to decrease blood pressure. Keywords: Hypertension, Elderly, Morning walk activities
