Abstract

Preoperative patients with caesarean section experience anxiety. Preoperative anxiety is perceived anxiety before surgery. Ansitas can be measured using the HARS (Hamilton Rating Scale For Anxiety) scale observation sheet. In preoperative patients with caesarean section who experience anxiety requires nursing intervention to reduce anxiety, namely by non-pharmacological therapy such as applying the application of aromatherapy citrus. This case study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of aromatherapy citrus to reduce anxiety in patients with preoperative sectio caesarea. This case study design is descriptive study with a pre post test approach. The subjects of this case study were patients with preoperative day 1 cesarean section with serotine indications, totaling 2 people who experienced anxiety and were measured using HARS (Hamilton Rating Scale For Anxiety). The results of this case study had not decreased anxiety on the first day to the second day using HARS (Hamilton Rating Scale For Anxiety), obtained an assessment of total anxiety scores on day 1 between 21-26 (moderate anxiety category), while the average assessment of intensity scale anxiety on day 2 between 14-20 (mild anxiety category). It was concluded that there was an effect of applying aromatherapy citrus to anxiety in patients with preoperative sectio caesarea.
