Abstract

Background: According to the World Health Organization (WHO) MMR in pregnancy and childbirth in the world reaches 586,000 people each year (Ayude, 2009). The Indonesian Demographic Health Survey (IDHS) in 2008 Indonesian MMR was 226 per 100,000 live births. The MDGs target in 2015 is 102 per 100,000 live births. The maternal mortality rate in Central Java Province for 2008 was 114.42 / 100,000 live births and in 2009 it increased by 117.02 / 100,000 live births. Research methods: In this study the authors used the descriptive study method using the Nursing process approach. Subjects in this case study were clients with labor pain 1. Presentation of data using case studies by comparing theories with facts found in clients. Overview: Time of taking the case 7 - 9 February 2018. The place for this research was taken at the Mlonggo Jepara Health Center. The method of research by giving the aroma of lavender therapy, was carried out an assessment of the decrease in the level of labor pain at I. Conclusion: From the results of the study of the treatment of lavender aromatherapy therapy to clients with labor pain, it was found that the administration of lavender aroma therapy had an effect on reducing pain in maternity patients at Mlonggo Jepara Health Center. Because the content in lavender flowers can calm and relax so that pain can be overcome. Suggestion: the use of aroma therapy of lavender is very influential on reducing pain in maternity patients at the first time, so that it is effectively used as non-pharmacological therapy in maternity patients with pain.
