Abstract

Injuries are often experienced by elementary school students and disrupt their activities especially in school. To minimize the impact of injuries, there should be a role of the school through the UKS program, one of them by providing health education. The purpose of this research is to analyze the differences of knowledge and skills of the cadres of UKS before and after the health education of the injury management in elementary school. Research method using pre experiment design, with One Group Pretest Posttest Design. This study used total sampling. The number of samples is 20 respondents who are given health education of injury management. Data retrieval by using questionnaire. Result of analysis of statistical test of knowledge found that (p value = 0,000; a = 0,05) it means that there is a significant difference about knowledge of cadre of UKS before and after the health education. And for skills (p value = 0,000; a = 0,05) which means that there is a significant difference in the skills of UKS cadres before and after the health education. It can be concluded that there is an influence of health education of injury management on the knowledge and skills of UKS cadres in the treatment of injuries in SDN 03 Bulakan Pemalang. The results of this study may recommend to health workers to work with elementary schools in health education to reduce the impact of injuries that often occur in elementary school students.
