Abstract
Dysmenorrhea is a physical disorder in woman who complained during menstruation, with charateristics of pain before and during menstruation. Dysmenorrhea occurs in the ischemic phase, which is affected by physical disorders such as narrowing of blood vessels, decreased body condition, and dysmenorrhea influenced by psychological disorder such as stress and shock. The Purpose of this study to determine the relationship between the characteristics and stress levels of female students with the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea in state Junior High School 3 Sragi Pekalongan, used analytic survey with cross sectional approach, conducted on March 24 until 24 Mei, sampling technique used is total sampling, and the total number of samples are 61 respondents. There was no correlation between age characteristic, menarche age and the inciden of primary dysmenorrhea. This happens because the majority of respondents are 14 years old and the majority of menarche age is 12 years old, while the affecting age is 15-25. There is relation between stress level of student with primary dysmenorrhea incidence in state Junior High School 3 Sragi Pekalongan, with value of Pvalue=0,006 (P>0.05). It occurs because many experience moderate stress was 89 %, so the work of endocrine system is disrupted by the increases of the hormone adrenalin that causes tension of the uterine muscle resulting in decreased perfusion to endometrial tissue, so that the blood vessels are squeezed by the uterine muscle which causes the oxygen supply to decrease and become ischemic. Then increases the hormone estrogen causes contraction of the uterus. Recommendation from the research for further researcher developed by qualitative metodh with deep interview about factors influencing stress incident at dysmenorrhea. Keywords: Dysmenorrhea, Characteristics, Stress
