Abstract

Determination of lipid profile is done by serum, but can also use the EDTA plasma or heparin plasma. Serum and plasma should be immediately separated from the blood cells and if not checked immediately should be stored in the refrigerator so that lipid distribution does not change and the enzymes do not have time to change the lipoproteins proportion. The problem that occur was serum volume was inadequate or at the same time another examination that use plasma so that the examination was done using EDTA plasma or heparin plasma. The research goal is to know the ratio of triglyceride level using serum samples, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. The research type is analytic with cross sectional approach. The research sample of 31 samples with serum, plasma EDTA, and heparin plasma material were examined its triglyceride level. The research result was obtained that serum triglyceride level was between 48-265 mg / dl, average was 134,74 mg / dl, EDTA plasma was 43 -238 mg / dl, average was 121,90 mg / dl, heparin plasma was 44-264 mg / dl, average was 122 , 39 mg / dl, ANOVA test result was obtained p> 0,05 (0,524) which means there was no significant difference in triglyceride level of serum sample, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. Keywords: triglyceride, serum, plasma, EDTA, heparin
