Abstract

Correlation between Disease Perceptions with Anxiety Level of Patients in Outpatient Clinicat Roemani Muhammadiyah Hospital v + 66 pages + 19 table + 3 pictures + 3 charts + 10 appendixes Background:Disease perception is patient’s representation about their diseases according to their comprehension. Research Objective: Finding the correlation between disease perceptions with anxiety level of patients in outpatient clinic at Roemani Muhammadiyah Hospital. Method: It was adescriptive correlational research with cross sectional approach. 150 respondentswere taken as sample using purposive sampling technique. Rank spearman correlation test was used for the statistical analysis. Result and Conclusion: Most of the respondents showed a positive perception about their disease, with total 81 respondents (54%). On the other hand, most of the outpatients (25.3%) commonly experienced moderate anxiety. From the result, it was drawn that p-value= 0,000 and r-value was -0,565. It can be concluded that there was correlation between disease perceptions with anxiety level of patients in outpatient clinic at Roemani Muhammadiyah Hospital. From the research, it is suggested for the nurse at outpatient clinic to apply psychological approach and give the factual information about the disease.
