Abstract

Dextromethorphan is limited free medicine which it use to prevent cough that cause throad irritation and rasparation the normal doses of dextromethorphan 120 mg/dl. Dextromethorphan is drug which has ditimelation process in hepar and is excresitioned through kidney in more active compound that is dexstrophan, in amount portions and buried in kidney will be damage the kidney which one of them can be noted by the raising of creatinine quantity in serum. The purpose of this research to know the creatinine quantity in consuming dexstrometorphan. The kind reseaching is descriptive which is done on January 2017. The example is the total population of teenagers who consume dextrometorfan in Wahyu Temurun, Tlogosari Semarang. They are fifteen persons who are examined by using kinetic methode which normal value 0.6-1.1 mg/dL. The result of the research shows that 3 of respondents have low creatinine quantity, 6 respondents (40%) have normal quanity creatinine and 6 respondents (40%) have high creatinine quantity. The conclusion of this research is to consume dextrometrofan in high dosis in a long time will disstruct the kidney. Keywords: Dextromethorphan, Creatinine
