Abstract

Hypertension was a disease that causes death in the world. Hypertension can not be cured but requires good management such as regular treatment. Hypertensive patients in performing treatment routinely require high motivation. Nurses need to provide counseling to improve the motivation of hypertensive patients in treatment routinely. This study aimed determine the influence health counseling about hypertension to motivation hypertension patients to undergo treatment routinely in working area of Banjardawa Public Health Center Pemalang Regency. Design research used experiment with one group pre and post test design. Samples were hypertension patients who checked themselves as many as 20 people in Banjardawa Public Health Center Pemalang Regency. The sampling technique used the accidental sampling. The instrument used to collect the data was questionnaire. The result of wilcxzon test showed that there was significant influence health counseling about hypertension to motivation hypertension patients to undergo treatment routinely in working area of Banjardawa Public Health Center Pemalang Regency with ρ value 0,010. Public Health Center should make the results of this study as a consideration in establishing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for hypertensive patients who underwent outpatient by providing counseling as part of efforts to prevent the occurrence of complications from hypertension Key words : Counseling, Motivation, Treatment, Hypertention
