Abstract

The role of nurses was listed in nursing science objectives that emphasize the values of nursing science at the three elements of a holistic, humanistic and care. Fulfillment of human needs was the object of nursing science that includes helping improves, prevent and restore health functions that were disrupted by illness. The purpose of this study was determining the picture of the role of nurses in health centers Tambakromo Pati. The research was qualitative with inductive approach. Participants of this study were nurses PHC Tambakromo Pati. Sampling technique used purposive totaling 3. The results of the study found that nurses as implementers that nurses should be able to create a sense of security, comfortable and able to communicate well to clients. The role of nurses as educators that nurses were able to provide education about the knowledge of the disease, prevention methods, and behaviors that must be done to get healing. Administrative roles include service activities, problem-solving decisions, power management, mechanical quality control, socialization with the community. The nurse's role as counseling had the sense that nurses can be a place to ask people who had problems with illness or were related to health. The role of nurses as researchers was the ability of nurses in identifying phenomena and health problems that exist in the community then conduct research related to nursing practice. Based on these results the health centers should always improve the quality of services to patients through all the available health workers, especially nurses to continue to provide guidance on the role of nurses to be implemented mainly executive role, the role of educators, and the role of counseling.
