Abstract

Background: smartphones are the development of communication devices or mobile phones that can be connected to data or internet networks such as computers, smartphones have many functions like to communicate, search for information and entertain leisure time. With these facilities will be able to get information easily so as to create a sense of dependence in its use that can impact on other activities, especially in adolescents such as productivity in learning. Learning productivity is the availability of time to learn and the results of learning or achievement that a person can achieve. Method: This research design uses quantitative type with correlation analytic approach. In this study used 140 respondents of teenagers in SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Semarang. Result : The results showed that there was a correlation between the use of smartphones with adolescent learning productivity tested using spearman corelation test with significant value 0,05 (5%) and got value of P-value = 0,039 <0,050. Conclusion: A small percentage of respondents are categorized as high in smartphone use and in learning productivity. Suggestion: school parties should be expected to continue to provide support or motivation to students to improve and maintain good learning productivity.
