Abstract

Iron deficiency during pregnancy causes iron stores in infants at birth is inadequate, whereas iron is needed for infant brain development in early birth. Pregnant women meet the need for iron during pregnancy begins Trimester II. But if low hemoglobin levels and iron is absorbed from food are low, it is necessary that sufficient iron supplements.Iron are essential components of hemoglobin tied to red blood cells. So that iron relating to elevated levels of hemoglobin. Usually taken one tablet a day for 3 months. Research purpose Knowing the difference between hemoglobin levels before and after consuming the tablet Fe to pregnant women in the second trimester at Kedungmundu health center. Methods: This type of research is analytic. The research sample of pregnant women who live in Kedungmundu health centers area, with a total sampling amounts to 25 samples The results: The results of the study found that hemoglobin levels mean in pregnant women before consuming tablet Fe is 10.29 g / dl and after consuming tablet Fe is 12.08 g / dl. Based on the statistical test using Wilcoxon obtained probability value of 0.000 (<0.05) that otherwise there is a significantl difference of hemoglobin levels before and after consuming tablet Fe.Conclusion: There are differences hemoglobin levels in pregnant women before and after consuming tablet Fe.
