Abstract
Toddlers are an age group that is prone to experiencing nutritional problems. Many factors that influence the nutritional status of toddlers include the level of education and knowledge of mothers. Mother's education and knowledge affect the pattern of selection and feeding of toddlers. The level of higher education and a good level of knowledge can lead a mother to provide good food in quantity and quality to her child who is still toddlers so that it will have a positive impact on the nutritional status of the toddler. This research is analytic research with observasional approach and cross sectional designed.. The purpose of the study was to analyze the relationship between the level of education and nutritional knowledge of mothers with nutritional status of toddlers. The number of research samples was 60 Batita taken by sampling quota from Batita who came to Posyandu. Toddler nutritional status is measured by a BB / U indicator. Mother's education and nutritional knowledge is measured by interview method. Variable relationship analysis is done using Chi Square test. If the test results show a significant relationship, the relative risk will be analyzed by calculating the relative risk coefficient. The results showed that 16.7% of mothers had basic education and 83.3% were further educated. 20% of mothers are knowledgeable of good nutrition and 80% of mothers have poor nutrition knowledge. Seen from BB / U, 88.3% of toddlers are classified as good nutrition and 11.7% are underweight. The test results showed that there was a significant relationship between the level of education with nutritional status of toddlers based on BB / U, indicated by p count = 0.048 (<0.05) and RR = 0.33. There was no correlation between the level of nutritional knowledge of toddlers with nutritional status of toddlers based on BB / U indicated by p count = 0.688 (> 0.05). Thus the results of this study indicate the education level of toddlers is related to the nutritional status of toddlers but the level of nutritional knowledge of toddlers is not related to nutritional status of toddlers. Keywords: Nutritional status, toddler, mother's level of knowledge, mother's education level
