Abstract

Background: Gout in Indonesia has been researched by a doctor (dr. Van Den Horst) from Netherland. He found 15 gout disease cases on people with low economic life background in Central Java 1935. Gout or gout arthritis is one of degenerative diseases which attack on human joint, and most found on adult people. Giving compress on inflammation parts, mussels spasm, flatulent, and freezing. Aim: This case study for reducing gout pain scale on gouts patient with using ginger warm compress in Puskesmas Rowosari Kota Semarang. Subject: The subject on this research is two respondents who diagnosed as gout patients in Puskesmas Rowosari. Method: This research using descriptive of case study with nursing care approach. The Research Result: giving a care of ginger warm compress to reduce pain scale of gout patients in Puskermas Rowosari. The result showed that this implementation could reducing the gout’s scale pain. Patient said that before care ginger warm compress from 6 scale (medium pain), after care with ginger warm compress, the scale was reducing to 2 scale (mild pain) with the scale reduce averages -2. Conclusion: This case study is giving ginger warm compress helps to reduce scale intensity to gout patients. Suggestion: The case study implementation can used to health provider, particularly nurse as complementary therapy for gout patient. Keywords: Ginger warm compress, Scale pain, Gout
